Data from the 2026 Brazilian elections reveal significant individual contributions to political campaigns. Maria Dias Branco, chair of the Dias Branco food group and widow of Ivens Dias Branco, has emerged as a major donor to the reelection campaign of Ceará Governor Elmano de Freitas (PT). Her contributions, alongside other million-real donations from figures such as businessman Rodrigo Antônio de Oliveira and Grendene co-founder Pedro Grendene Bartelle, contribute to the R$ 8.44 million received by Elmano to date.

In a broader national context, Carlos Seabra Suarez, an entrepreneur in the gas and energy sectors, has become the largest individual donor for the 2026 election cycle. Suarez has allocated R$ 5.72 million to various parties and candidates, including R$ 1 million each to the MDB, União, PSDB, PP, and PSD. Suarez, a founder of the construction firm OAS who later transitioned into the energy sector, is noted for his involvement in small hydroelectric plants and thermal power projects.
