Brazil to host 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup

The 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup, to be hosted by Brazil from June 24 to July 25, is expected to generate significant economic activity. A study by FGV Projetos for Embratur estimates a total movement of R$ 8.8 billion during the preparation and execution of the tournament. This includes an estimated R$ 3.8 billion boost to the GDP, the creation of 73,700 direct and indirect jobs, and R$ 4.5 billion in income distribution.

Approximately 2 million people, including residents and tourists, are expected to participate in the event. The tournament will feature 32 teams and 64 matches across eight host cities: Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, and São Paulo.

Regarding tournament logistics, FIFA is finalizing the schedule. The final is confirmed for the Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro. Currently, 16 of the 32 participating nations have secured their spots, including host nation Brazil, Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, Germany, Denmark, France, Spain, Argentina, Colombia, Algeria, and Morocco.
