Brazil: ABCR mobilizes for vote on permanent health tax incentives
The Brazilian Association of Fundraisers (ABCR) is intensifying mobilization following the approval of an urgency requirement for Bill No. 6.231/2019 in the Chamber of Deputies. The bill aims to make the National Program for Support to Oncology Care (PRONON) and the National Program for Support to the Health of Persons with Disabilities (PRONAS/PCD) permanent.
To ensure the Ministry of Health can publish the 2026 edicts, the project must be scheduled for a vote between August 31 and September 3. Failure to vote within this window could result in a one-year gap where oncology hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and institutions like APAEs are unable to present new projects or capture resources through tax incentives. Deputy Antonio Brito has been designated as the rapporteur for the project.
