Brazil finishes Wheelchair Rugby World Championship in 11th place

The Brazilian national wheelchair rugby team concluded its participation in the World Championship, hosted at the Paralympic Training Center in São Paulo, in 11th place. In their final match on Saturday, Brazil defeated New Zealand with a score of 53 to 37.

This result matches Brazil's best historical performance in the competition, previously achieved at the 2022 World Championship in Denmark. During the group stages, the team secured victories against Canada (49-48) and New Zealand (58-44), though these were insufficient to advance to the knockout stage.

Athlete Julio Braz noted the technical evolution and strength of the group throughout the tournament. This event marks the first time the World Championship has been held in South America.
