Brazil adopts AI water management and food‑waste initiatives in corporate sector

T&D Sustentável, in partnership with Otimiza.pro, has deployed its AI‑driven water‑management platform SEA 360° across large Brazilian companies such as Carrefour, Unimed, Cogna, Novotel, Ibis, Rede D’Or, Grupo Boticário, Baker Hughes and Halliburton. The system monitors consumption points, detects hidden leaks and shares savings with clients, having saved more than 1.7 billion litres of water, returned R$ 58 million to customers and cut CO₂ emissions by 3,400 tonnes across 47 cities and nine states.

Separately, Grupo Pereira launched a pioneering programme to repurpose fruits, vegetables and leafy greens in its Fort Atacadista and Supermercados Comper stores. Real‑time monitoring and standardized protocols have reduced FLV waste by 20 % in pilot outlets and cut cafeteria costs by half, diverting 371 tonnes of food to internal restaurants and charitable projects such as Mesa Brasil. The initiative aims to avoid more than 8,300 tonnes of waste across the Fort Atacadista network.
