Brazil advances AI integration in construction and formal AI modeling

In Brazil, the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) by construction firms more than doubled from 9.2% in 2018 to 20.6% in 2024, according to FGV IBRE data. At the BIM Forum Conference 2026 in São Paulo, Ruben Millon of Graphisoft argued that artificial intelligence will shift BIM from a representation‑centred model to a data‑centred platform, enabling predictive decision‑making, generative design and automated quantity extraction. He warned that broader AI adoption still faces challenges in data quality, standards such as ISO 19650, and the need for structured project information.

Separately, researchers introduced Lean4Agent, a framework that uses the Lean4 dependently‑typed language to formally model and verify the behavior of AI agents. The FormalAgentLib library allows explicit specification of workflow premises and automatic detection of execution failures. Benchmarks on SWE‑Bench‑Verified and ELAIP‑Bench showed verified workflows improve performance by roughly 12% and the LeanEvolve tool adds another 7% gain, suggesting a promising path toward more reliable and secure AI systems.
