Brazil advances industrial policy and small business competitiveness

In Brazil, industrial leaders and government officials are focusing on regional development and the strengthening of small businesses. During a seminar in Santo André, the Minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, Márcio Elias Rosa, committed to advancing a joint agenda for the Grande ABC region under the 'Nova Indústria Brasil' policy. The initiative aims to connect regional technological capabilities to strategic sectors, including medical devices, semiconductors, green hydrogen, and defense.

Simultaneously, the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) and Sebrae held a seminar in Brasília focused on the competitiveness of micro and small enterprises. Roberto Serquiz, president of the Federation of Industries of Rio Grande do Norte, emphasized that small businesses represent 92% of the country's business establishments and generate 42% of employment. Discussions centered on tax reform, access to credit, and overcoming the 'Custo Brasil' to foster economic inclusion and growth.
