Brazil advances initiatives for child and adolescent rights

The Abrinq Foundation is advancing an initiative to strengthen the capacity of civil society organizations and Municipal Councils for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (CMDCAs) in Brazil. The project, titled ‘Diagnosis of Childhood and Adolescence and Strategic Resource Mobilization’, aims to bridge the gap between local needs and available funding through Municipal Funds for the Rights of Children and Adolescents.

Training sessions have already been conducted for council members and civil society representatives from Fortaleza, São Paulo, Salvador, and several municipalities in Rio Grande do Norte. These sessions focus on socio-territorial diagnosis, budget analysis, and management within the Regulatory Framework for Civil Society Organizations (MROSC).

In Londrina, the CMDCA has opened applications for projects to be included in the Municipal Fund for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (FMDCA) project bank. Eligible applicants include civil society organizations with at least two years of active registration and municipal government bodies. Projects can cover various areas, including health, education, social assistance, and the prevention of child labor and violence.
