Brazil advances major highway concession projects
The concessionaire Rota dos Grãos reported continued work on the MT-130 highway in Mato Grosso, with recovery efforts extending from km 140 to 146 and upcoming asphalt paving near km 165. The company will also gradually reduce the "Pare e Siga" system between km 155 and 165, cutting about 700 meters per day to improve traffic flow and safety.
The Ministry of Transport attended a ceremony in Montes Claros, Minas Gerais, marking the start of interventions by Ecovias das Gerais on the newly awarded BR‑116/251 concession. The 100‑day plan includes pavement recovery, enhanced signage, domain‑strip maintenance and safety upgrades. The 734.9‑km corridor, linking key valleys in the Southeast and Northeast, will see roughly R$ 13.16 billion in investments over 30 years.
