Brazil advances major infrastructure projects in Espírito Santo and Mato Grosso do Sul

The Department of Buildings and Roads of Espírito Santo (DER‑ES) has issued a tender for the second phase of the macro‑drainage and paving works on the north side of Guriri, São Mateus. The bid will open on 15 September 2026 at 10 a.m., with the project valued at roughly R$ 341 million, fully financed by the BNDES. The works aim to alleviate long‑standing flooding in the area's Basin 1 and follow the ongoing works in Basin 2 on the south side.

Separately, the State Agency for Project Management (Agesul) in Mato Grosso do Sul signed a contract with Sepel Engenharia for technical studies and design of road‑paving works across the mountain sections of Rio Verde de Mato Grosso and São Gabriel do Oeste. The contract, worth R$ 719 958, covers about 15.8 km of potential bridges, viaducts and tunnels, with a 240‑day deadline for delivery of the studies and projects.
