Brazil advances to quarterfinals at World Rowing Championships

The Brazilian national rowing delegation has begun competing in the World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The team consists of 21 athletes, including Olympic rowers Lucas Verthein and Beatriz Tavares, as well as Paralympic medalist Renê Pereira. The squad is divided into ten athletes for classic rowing and 11 for paralympic rowing.

In recent competition rounds, Lucas Verthein and Beatriz Tavares both secured spots in the quarterfinals of the Single Skiff event. Verthein finished fourth in his heat with a time of 07:20.63, while Tavares finished fourth in her heat with a time of 08:13.18. Both are scheduled to compete in the first heat of the quarterfinals on Friday.

Other results included Lorrayne Lane and Mariana Macedo finishing fifth in the Women's Coxless Pair Final C, and the duo of Olavo Pelegrino and Breno Ornellas taking second place in the Men's Double Skiff Final D.
