Brazil agricultural forecasts rise for orange and coffee crops

Brazil is seeing significant shifts in its agricultural commodity forecasts. The orange crop for the São Paulo and Minas Gerais regions has been revised upward to 263.15 million 40.8-kilogram boxes, a 3.1% increase from previous estimates. This adjustment is driven by higher projected fruit weight in early- and mid-season varieties due to above-average rainfall, despite increased fruit drop caused by pests and disease.

In the coffee sector, Arabica futures on the New York exchange fell as market sentiment shifted toward a higher supply from Brazil. NRP Agro raised its estimate for the 2026/27 Arabica production to 45.4 million 60-kilogram bags, up from 44.2 million. This recovery is particularly noted in the Alta Mogiana and Cerrado Mineiro regions.

Additionally, there are indications of a recovery in Brazilian orange juice prices.
