Brazil and Argentina conduct Arandu 2026 military exercise

The Brazilian and Argentine armies conducted the Arandu 2026 Combined Exercise in Rio Grande do Sul, involving approximately 2,800 military personnel and over 600 vehicles. The training, which concluded on October 16, included 2,400 Brazilian troops and 400 Argentine troops.

The exercise aimed to improve operational capacity, interoperability, and integration between the two nations' ground forces through simulations of conventional combat. Activities covered military planning, command and control, fire coordination, land maneuvers, and logistical support. Specialized units, including paratroopers, airmobile forces, and special operations, were also involved.

Equipment used by the Brazilian Army included Leopard 1A5 BR tanks, Guarani and Centauro II armored vehicles, and the Astros missile and rocket system. The Argentine Army deployed TAM 2C-A2 tanks and Stryker 8x8 armored vehicles. Air support was provided by the Brazilian Air Force's KC-390 Millennium and the Argentine Air Force's CASA C-212. To enhance realism, soldiers and vehicles utilized laser simulation devices and sensors to replicate combat effects.
