Brazil and Argentina receive major hospitality and culinary honors
Brazil has secured a leading position in South American luxury hospitality following the release of the 2026 Michelin Guide. The country earned 22 Michelin Keys, placing it ahead of the seven other markets analyzed in the continental edition. The selection committee evaluated 94 properties across the region, focusing on architectural personality, service excellence, interior design, and authentic local experiences. The awards are distributed among avant-garde urban properties in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, as well as eco-resorts and natural retreats.
In Argentina, the 2026 World Culinary Awards recognized two prominent establishments. El Preferido de Palermo, a traditional Buenos Aires restaurant operating since 1952, was named the best restaurant in Argentina. Additionally, Cantina Cucina Italiana, located in the Mihanovich building in Retiro, was honored as the best hotel restaurant in the country for its Italian-inspired cuisine.
