Brazil and India sign agreement to expand trade ties

Brazil and India are strengthening their commercial ties through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding between ApexBrasil and the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII). The agreement establishes an institutional framework to facilitate information exchange, business promotion, and the internationalization of companies from both nations.

This partnership is part of a broader Brazilian strategy to diversify trade markets and mitigate the impact of tariffs imposed by the United States. According to Márcio Elias Rosa, Minister of Development, Industry, Commerce, and Services, the initiative aims to expand business opportunities and investments.

Bilateral trade between the two countries has seen significant growth, reaching US$ 15.2 billion in 2025. Brazilian exports to India reached US$ 6.9 billion in 2025, the highest value in 20 years. The goal of this strengthened relationship is to reach a bilateral trade volume of US$ 20 billion by 2030.
