Brazil and Philippines sign tourism cooperation agreement

Brazil and the Philippines have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance tourism cooperation between the two nations. The agreement, signed at the Palácio Itamaraty, aims to bring the two tourism markets closer together, increase destination promotion, and encourage the movement of visitors.

The partnership focuses on several key segments, including nature tourism, gastronomy, culture, sports, and business tourism. It also includes provisions for exchanging experiences regarding sustainability, professional qualification, and the digitalization of the tourism sector. Additionally, the document seeks to connect companies and representatives from the tourism industries of both countries.

The signing ceremony took place during an official visit to Brazil by the Philippine Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Maria Theresa Lazaro, and was attended by the Brazilian Minister of Tourism, Gustavo Feliciano. Data from the first half of the year shows that 3,311 Filipino tourists visited Brazil during that period.
