Brazil and Portugal launch educational summer camps for children

The Centre for Conservation and Fauna Management of the Caatinga (Cemafauna) at the Federal University of Vale do São Francisco in Petrolina, Brazil, opened registrations for its 13th "Ceminha Inverno 2026" colony. The program runs from 6 July to 31 July 2026, targets children aged 6–12, costs R$ 335 per participant, and includes scientific and recreational activities focused on the local fauna and flora, with provisions for public‑school children, children with disabilities, meals, transport and educational kits.

In Lisbon, Portugal, the Goethe Institut will host a two‑week Mathematics and Arts summer camp from 29 June to 10 July 2026. Aimed at youths aged 9–14, the camp combines morning sessions on mathematical thinking with afternoon creative workshops led by invited artists. Tuition is € 698 for full‑day attendance (or € 445 for mornings only). Participants arrange their own meals, and the program emphasizes collaborative problem‑solving and artistic expression.
