Brazil and Portugal showcase family activities to curb screen time
In Brazil, educational‑game company Mosaique launched a line of games designed to bring parents and children together. Developed in line with the national curriculum (BNCC), the games target logical reasoning, creativity, strategy and socio‑emotional skills such as cooperation and respect. Founder Karina Almeida says the shared play experience helps strengthen dialogue and create lasting family memories while reducing parental burnout linked to excessive screen use.
In Portugal, a series of August events aim to keep children away from devices. The fifth edition of Star Camp in Fafe offers outdoor camping and stargazing near the Casa do Penedo. Lisbon’s Spacio Shopping hosts space‑themed activities, including a “trip to the Moon” and NASA/ESA exhibits. In the Algarve, Quintado Lago’s Summer Camp in Loulé provides sports, cycling and other outdoor options. Together, these initiatives promote hands‑on, screen‑free experiences for families across both countries.
