Brazil announces infrastructure investments for transport and mobility
The Brazilian federal government has announced significant infrastructure investments aimed at improving urban mobility and transportation corridors in different regions.
In Petrolina, the duplication of the BR-407 on Avenida Honorato Viana has been completed. The project involved approximately R$ 130 million in investments covering 11.3 kilometers of interventions, including paving, drainage, signaling, and road safety devices. The local administration is also investing over R$ 12 million in lighting for the urban crossing to enhance safety and circulation.
In São Bernardo, the Ministry of the Civil House signed a contract to release R$ 46 million for the construction of a bus corridor on Avenida 31 de Março. This project is part of the Novo PAC (Growth Acceleration Program). Other planned interventions include corridors at Robert Kennedy, Ribeirão dos Couros, and Montanhão. The Ribeirão dos Couros complex is expected to reach completion by March 2027, representing a total investment of roughly R$ 180 million through federal and municipal resources.
