Brazil approves R$ 206 billion in industrial and technology projects
Brazil's National Council of Export Processing Zones (CZPE) has approved several major industrial and service projects in the Pecém (CE), Bacabeira (MA), and Parnaíba (PI) zones, with total investments estimated at R$ 206 billion.
A standout project is a R$ 181.7 billion data center in the Pecém Complex associated with Voltalia, which will require the expansion of wind and solar energy networks. In Maranhão, the government authorized an R$ 18.5 billion project by Hydeas—a platform launched by Vale—to decarbonize steel production using green hydrogen at the Green Energy Park Global.
In Maranhão, the Federation of Industries of the State of Maranhão (FIEMA) is also working to establish the New Industry Brazil (NIB) Nucleus. This initiative aims to connect local companies with credit lines, tax incentives, and technological support from entities such as FINEP, Sudam, and Sudene to foster innovation and competitiveness.
