Pedro Rousseff suffers car accident on Fernão Dias highway

Pedro Rousseff, a newly elected federal deputy for Minas Gerais, was involved in a car accident on the Fernão Dias highway (BR-381) on Sunday afternoon, October 25. The vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, overturned near kilometer 550 in the Itatiaiuçu/Itaguara region while traveling toward São Paulo.

Rousseff was traveling with a communications advisor to monitor the second-round presidential election results. Both occupants sustained only minor injuries and declined hospital transport after receiving on-site assistance from rescue teams. The accident occurred during heavy rainfall, which reportedly caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

The highway remained open, and traffic flow was not significantly impacted by the incident.
