Brazil aviation updates: Congonhas operating hours and Guarulhos anti-drone system

New aviation regulations in Brazil are introducing operational changes at major airports. Congonhas Airport will now be permitted to extend operations beyond 23:00 during exceptional circumstances, such as severe weather or major systemic operational issues. This measure aims to prevent flight cancellations and reduce the chain effect of delays on aircraft and crew positioning, though it does not change the standard operating hours of 06:00 to 23:00.

Additionally, Guarulhos International Airport is set to become the first in Brazil to implement an anti-drone system. Following guidelines from the Ministry of Ports and Airports, the terminal will acquire technology designed to identify, track, and neutralize unauthorized drones that pose risks to flight operations.
