Brazil beauty and wellness franchises grow 18% in Q1 2026
The health, beauty, and wellness franchise segment in Brazil experienced significant growth, generating R$ 19.24 billion in the first quarter of 2026, an 18% increase compared to the previous year. According to the Brazilian Franchising Association (ABF), the sector now comprises over 600 brands and 36,495 operations, supporting approximately 300,000 direct jobs.
This expansion is driven by a structural shift in consumer behavior, where aesthetic and personal care treatments have transitioned from occasional events to routine maintenance. This trend is reflected in the rising demand for specialized services and the expansion of retail portfolios. For instance, the retailer Araujo has expanded its offerings to include K-Beauty (Korean Beauty) products, catering to the growing interest in preventative skincare and specialized hair care.
However, experts warn of the psychological impacts of constant aesthetic pursuit. Data from the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) shows high volumes of procedures, such as eyelid surgery and facial fat grafting. Professionals note that social media influence and digital filters can distort self-perception, potentially leading consumers to prioritize trends over actual dermatological needs.
