Brazil Boosts Audiovisual Ties with China at Shanghai Film Festival

A Brazilian delegation led by Ministry of Culture officials Cassius Rosa and Joelma Gonzaga attended the 28th Shanghai International Film Festival as part of the BrazilChina Cultural Year 2026. The mission, comprising 44 representatives from 16 audiovisual companies and six Brazilian states, held a sectoral seminar to present the Audiovisual 2026‑2035 Plan and discuss long‑term public policies, financing, and co‑production opportunities.

The delegations highlighted existing bilateral frameworks, including four memoranda of understanding and two co‑production agreements, and sought to deepen market links through a stand at the Shanghai International Cinema and Television Market. Officials emphasized the goal of expanding Brazilian film and television presence in Asian markets and creating concrete business deals for the sector.
