Brazil car subscription demand grows 40%
The demand for car subscription services in Brazil is rising as consumers seek more predictable monthly expenses. According to the 2026 Brazilian Vehicle Rental Sector Yearbook by the Associação Brasileira das Locadoras de Automóveis (ABLA), the fleet of light vehicles and commercial vehicles reached 1.7 million units in 2025, representing a 6.2% increase from the previous year.
Currently, 54% of this fleet is concentrated in Fleet Management and Outsourcing (GTF), a category that includes subscription models. The Grupo Toriba dealership network reported a 40% increase in demand for subscriptions during the first half of 2026 compared to the same period the previous year. This shift is driven by consumers wanting access to new vehicles without the responsibilities of ownership, such as insurance, taxes, maintenance, and resale concerns.
