Brazil celebrates Tree Day with reforestation and environmental education
Various regions across Brazil celebrated Tree Day through diverse environmental initiatives, ranging from large-scale seedling donations to educational workshops and technological innovations.
In the state of São Paulo, the Arboriza CIVAP project donated 1,750 seedlings to ten municipalities, while Indaiatuba promoted urban reforestation at its Ecological Park. In Araucária, the 'Floresta em Movimento' project was launched to provide free seedlings to the public via mobile stands.
Educational engagement was a central theme. In Aquidauana, children participated in planting workshops, and in Sinop, the 'Escola Verde' project celebrated a decade of environmental awareness. In Sorriso, students won a contest for researching regenerative agriculture, applying their knowledge through tree planting.
Other notable actions included the revitalization of a century-old fig tree in Florianópolis with a new support system, the distribution of 4,000 fruit tree seedlings by Grupo Juba, and a community planting event in Maceió. Additionally, students in Mato Grosso received recognition for developing 'Agrobambu Tech,' a sustainable irrigation system using bamboo.
