Brazil Chamber of Deputies approves national support program for special education teachers

The Chamber of Deputies' Committee on the Defense of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has approved a bill to establish a national program supporting basic education teachers working with special education students. The proposal, reported by Deputy Márcio Jerry, aims to provide continuous training, accessible pedagogical materials, and technical or financial support from the Union to federative entities.

The initiative seeks to eliminate pedagogical and attitudinal barriers, promoting the participation and learning of special education students in regular classrooms. The project will now move to the Education, Finance and Taxation, and Constitution, Justice and Citizenship committees for further evaluation.
