Brazilian cities adjust traffic flow amid events, faults and upgrades
In a Brazilian municipality, the stretch of Rua Brilhante between Rua Iguassu and Avenida Bandeirantes was blocked each day from 07:00 to 22:00 between 19 and 21 June for a Sunday‑School conference. Drivers were urged to use Rua Iguassu or Avenida Bandeirantes as alternate routes and to obey temporary signage.
In Cascavel, traffic signals at the Avenida Brasil and Rua Afonso Pena intersection malfunctioned, flashing yellow continuously, while fog reduced visibility. Municipal crews placed cones and advised motorists and motorcyclists to slow down and follow provisional signage until repairs are completed.
In Boa Vista, a new traffic light began a test phase at the intersection of Luiz Canuto Chaves Avenue and Ville Roy Avenue on 20 June at 09:00. The city’s mobility department will monitor its operation and make adjustments, aiming to improve safety and traffic flow as part of a program that will bring the capital close to 100 operational signals.
