Brazil climbs to second‑most searched travel destination in the Americas

A recent Amadeus Travel Insights 2026 report, produced with the UN World Tourism Organization, shows Brazil ranking as the second‑most searched international travel destination in the Americas, behind only the United States. Searches for trips to Brazil grew 29 % between May 2025 and April 2026 compared with the same period a year earlier, making the country the top‑searched market in South America.

The study also notes that Brazil placed fourth among the Americas for actual reservations, with a 6 % rise in bookings made through Global Distribution Systems. Officials from Brazil’s tourism authority, Embratur, attribute the growth to the country’s diverse natural and cultural attractions, improved air‑connectivity, and an intensified international promotion strategy. Embratur president Bruno Reis warned that converting the heightened interest into concrete travel will require further investment in connectivity and diversified tourism offerings.
