Brazil coach Ancelotti says Neymar fit to play full 90 minutes against Norway

Brazilian coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that forward Neymar is fully fit after recovering from a calf injury and is able to play a full 90‑minute match in the FIFA World Cup 2026. Ancelotti said, “Yes, he can play 90 minutes,” adding that the player is “respectful, amiable and loved by his teammates.” He noted Neymar’s frustration with limited minutes but emphasized the striker’s readiness to contribute when needed.

The Selecão will face Norway in the Round of 16 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on July 5. Ancelotti said the decision on Neymar’s involvement will depend on the team’s needs during the match. He also highlighted the defensive preparation for Erling Haaland and praised the squad’s confidence after the win over Japan.

In addition to Neymar’s status, Ancelotti invited former player Nenê to join a training session, and highlighted Neymar’s mentorship of younger teammates such as Endrick and Vinícius Júnior.
