Brazil community races scheduled for Pink October cancer awareness

Several community events in Brazil are scheduled for October to support the ‘Outubro Rosa’ (Pink October) breast and cervical cancer awareness campaign.

In São José dos Pinhais, the 10th ‘Cuide-se Agora, Cuide-se Sempre’ race and walk will take place on October 18. Organized by Aciap Mulher with municipal support, the 5km event aims to promote physical activity and cancer prevention. Proceeds from registration fees are intended to fund the purchase of up to 75 armchairs for the oncology department at the Hospital Universitário Evangélico Mackenzie.

In Araras, the 6th ‘Corrida do Batom SME’ is an exclusive event for female residents aged 14 and older. Scheduled for October 18, the 5km race serves as a traditional local initiative for cancer awareness. Participants are encouraged to donate non-perishable food and hygiene products to local charities.
