Enamed 2026: National medical training exam held across Brazil

Medical students across Brazil took the National Exam for the Assessment of Medical Training (Enamed) on Sunday, September 13. Organized by Inep under the Ministry of Education, the exam aims to evaluate student learning and the quality of medical undergraduate programs nationwide.

The exam serves two primary purposes: assessing medical proficiency and acting as a selection criterion for direct-access medical residencies through the National Residency Exam (Enare). Under Provisional Measure 1370/2026, Enamed is becoming a critical regulatory tool. For students enrolling in medical programs from June 19, 2026, onwards, achieving sufficient scores on the exam will be a mandatory requirement to register with the Regional Medical Council (CRM), which is necessary to legally practice medicine in Brazil.

Regarding the 2026 exam cycle, the preliminary answer key is scheduled for release on September 15, with a period for appeals running through September 17. The final answer key and individual results are expected to be published on December 4, 2026.
