Enamed medical training exam conducted across Brazil
Medical students across Brazil took the National Exam for the Evaluation of Medical Training (Enamed) on Sunday, September 13. Organized by the National Institute for Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep) under the Ministry of Education, the exam was administered in all states and the Federal District.
The Enamed serves two primary purposes: evaluating the quality of medical undergraduate courses in Brazil and acting as a selection criterion for direct-access medical residency programs, such as the National Residency Exam (Enare). Under the guidelines of Provisional Measure No. 1370/2026, achieving sufficient performance on the exam is now a prerequisite for graduates to register with the Regional Medical Council (CRM), which is mandatory for practicing medicine in the country.
According to the official schedule, the preliminary answer key is due on September 15, with a period for appeals running through September 17. The final answer key, along with the results of the appeals and individual student results, is scheduled for release on December 4, 2026. Starting in 2027, the exam will be administered every six months to all graduating medical students.
