Brazil municipalities launch rabies vaccination campaigns
Various municipalities across Brazil are conducting rabies vaccination campaigns for dogs and cats to prevent the spread of the virus.
In Campo Grande, the campaign includes weekend shifts and door-to-door visits, aiming to cover approximately 300,000 properties. In Natal, over 44,000 animals have already been vaccinated, with a goal of reaching 80% coverage by the end of September. Araguatins is hosting a ‘Dia D’ with 17 vaccination points, while Eunápolis is also implementing a ‘Dia D’ across 24 locations.
In Itabuna, more than 18,500 animals have been immunized through decentralized efforts. In Marília, a specific stage of the campaign is providing 600 doses in the eastern zone. Additionally, Poços de Caldas has anticipated its vaccination strategy in certain areas following a confirmed rabies case in a nearby municipality to establish a preventive vaccine block within a 5-kilometer radius.
