Brazil conducts school-based environmental education events in Três Lagoas, Olímpia and Petrópolis

In Três Lagoas, Mato Grosso do Sul, the municipal government held the "Uma Só Terra" environmental fair as part of the 2026 Municipal Environment Week. More than 100 participants, including students, teachers and local officials, attended exhibitions on recycling, electronic waste collection and sustainable practices, and the event featured a band performance and a drawing contest.

Olímpia in São Paulo celebrated the tenth anniversary of the "Educação no Parque" program. The initiative, run by the Termas dos Laranjais resort, brought together 721 municipal students from ten schools for a poetry contest on environmental preservation. Winners Maria Eduarda C. Pereira and Valentina de Souza Oliveira were awarded for their verses, highlighting the city’s commitment to sustainability education.

In Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro, more than 100 municipal students joined an environmental action at Lago de Corrêas, planting around 800 native seedlings and establishing ornamental gardens. The activity, organized by the APA Petrópolis/ICMBio project "Agente Ambiental Mirim" with Conexão Verde, also involved about 70 soldiers, police, firefighters and civil‑defence personnel, reinforcing community‑wide engagement in reforestation and waste‑reduction efforts.
