Brazil confirms Karlo Anceloti will remain coach through 2030 World Cup

Italian coach Karlo Anceloti has extended his contract with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and will stay as head coach of the Brazil national team until the end of the 2030 World Cup. The decision was announced by CBF general coordinator Rodrigo Kaetano after Brazil’s 1‑2 defeat to Norway in the round of 16, which sparked criticism of the coach.

Kaetano emphasized the need for stable, long‑term leadership and urged calm, noting that the team and staff are grieving the loss but will continue working toward the next World Cup. Anceloti thanked supporters on social media, saying trust in the project remains strong and pledging to keep building the squad.

The CBF described the early exit as a painful but necessary step in the nation’s football rebuilding process, reaffirming confidence in Anceloti’s ability to guide Brazil forward.
