Brazil construction industry rolls out new training programmes to raise productivity

The Minas Gerais construction union (Sinduscon-MG) and the Instituto de Ciência e Tecnologia Órbi launched the second phase of the Sinduscon-MG Lab "Trilha 2 – Eficiência Operacional" on 29 July. The online course targets managers, engineers and decision‑makers, teaching the integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM), Lean Construction, ESG principles and other digital tools to improve productivity, reduce waste and lower environmental impact.

At the same time, the ES Construção 2026 trade fair in Espírito Santo displayed a range of rapid‑build and safety innovations. Highlights included modular housing units from BioModulare and Isocil that can be delivered in 5‑10 days, a mobile VR training unit from Sesi Experience that simulates fire, electric shock and panic scenarios, and new residential concepts such as the Fazenda Barão do Império eco‑condominium. Organisers anticipate more than R$ 800 million in business agreements generated by the event.
