Brazil cruise season 2026/2027 projected to grow by over 24%
The Brazilian cruise maritime season for 2026/2027 is projected to see significant growth, potentially exceeding the anticipated 24% increase. According to the Ministry of Tourism, the upcoming season is expected to feature eight ships and 831,254 beds, with the number of itineraries rising from 160 to 190.
Growth may be further bolstered by Corazul Cruceros, which is considering an early start to its operations by 45 days and an extension of its stay by 30 days. If confirmed, this could add approximately 30,000 additional beds to the market. The official season is scheduled to run from late October 2026 through early April 2027, utilizing seven major ports including Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, and Maceió.
In the Port of Santos, the Giusfredo Santini Terminal (Concais) expects to handle roughly 913,000 passengers over 97 days of operation. This activity is forecasted to create 400 direct jobs and 5,500 indirect jobs in the region. Historically, the sector has shown high economic impact; studies by the Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) indicated that the 2024/2025 season generated 93,700 jobs and over US$ 1 billion for the Brazilian economy.
