Brazil deputy Arilson Chiorato denounces police‑linked torture video sales

State deputy Arilson Chiorato, leader of the opposition in the Paraná Legislative Assembly and president of PT‑PR, filed a formal complaint with the Special Operations Group against Organized Crime (Gaeco) and the State Human Rights Prosecutor. The complaint alleges that a private Telegram channel, advertised on Instagram, charges R$20 a month for access to videos showing alleged torture, beatings, and deaths attributed to members of the Paraná Military Police. The channel reportedly has more than 100 subscribers and updates weekly with new footage of police operations, arrests and violent encounters. Deputies Chiorato and Renato Freitas request priority investigation, immediate preservation of digital evidence, and confidentiality of the case. They stress that any officer committing crimes while wearing the uniform must be held accountable, emphasizing the need to protect the integrity of the police force and public trust.
