Brazil diesel B demand forecast lowered by StoneX
The consultancy StoneX revised its outlook for Brazil’s diesel B market, cutting the projected demand growth for 2026 to 1.6% from the previously forecast 1.9%. The new estimate puts total diesel B consumption at 70.6 billion litres next year. Alongside this, StoneX lowered its biodiesel growth projection to 6.8% (down from 7.3%), expecting biodiesel use of 10.36 billion litres in 2026. Diesel A, the pure fossil component, is now forecast to grow 0.7% to reach 60.2 billion litres. The downgrade reflects weaker sales signals in May and inflation‑pressured economic conditions, though the mandatory 15% biodiesel blend in diesel keeps overall fuel demand expanding. Soybean oil is projected to supply 84.5% of Brazil’s biodiesel feedstock, reinforcing the sector’s link to the country’s agribusiness.
