Brazil ecotourism grows as travelers seek nature and conservation

Brazil is seeing a rise in ecotourism, with national parks recording a record 11.8 million visitors in 2025, according to the Ministry of Tourism. Travelers are increasingly seeking personalized experiences that combine luxury, comfort, and environmental conservation.

The Pantanal region has transitioned from a traditional cattle ranching and fishing area to a premier destination for high-end nature observation. Visitors can observe diverse wildlife, including jaguars and various bird species, within a landscape shaped by seasonal flooding and droughts. A portion of the Pantanal is recognized as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site.

Other notable destinations for nature-focused travel include the Chapada Diamantina National Park in Bahia, which spans three biomes: Atlantic Forest, Cerrado, and Caatinga. The park offers extensive hiking trails and landmarks such as the Cachoeira da Fumaça waterfall and Morro do Pai Inácio.
