Brazil electoral authorities update voting locations and transfer rules

Electoral authorities in Brazil have announced changes to voting locations and procedures for upcoming elections. In the municipalities of Codó and Timbiras, the Electoral Justice system has relocated several polling sections due to ongoing construction in school buildings and to ensure better accommodation for voters. Specific sections in Codó have been moved to IEMA Pleno (Trizidela) and Escola Cívico-Militar Liceu Codoense, while sections in Timbiras have seen shifts to the Centro de Ensino Infantil Reinalda Rodrigues.

Additionally, voters in Minas Gerais and across Brazil have until August 20 to request temporary transfers of their polling stations. This option is available for individuals requiring improved accessibility or those who will be away from their electoral domicile during the first and second rounds of voting. Transit voting is restricted to state capitals and municipalities with more than 100,000 voters, with specific limitations on which offices can be voted for depending on whether the voter is in a different city, state, or abroad.
