Brazil electoral fund distributions show significant candidate disparities

Initial distributions of the Special Campaign Financing Fund (FEFC) are showing significant disparities among political candidates in Brazil. In the Bico do Papagaio region, first installments for state and federal deputy candidates total R$ 4.545 million. Among federal deputy candidates, Jair Farias (UB) received the highest amount of R$ 1 million, followed by Alaor do Sacolão (PT) with R$ 713,000 and Professora Elizabete (PL) with R$ 700,000.

In Paraná, the Workers' Party (PT) is facing internal friction after 22 of its candidates—including seven for the Chamber of Deputies and 15 for the State Assembly—reported receiving zero resources for their campaigns. Candidates such as Eduardo Reiner have expressed concern regarding the viability of their campaigns due to this lack of funding. The PT state executive in Paraná has attributed the distribution decisions to the party's National Directory and is reportedly working on a proposal to transfer resources to these candidates.
