Brazil establishes National Junior Enterprise Week

Brazil has enacted Law 15.510/2026, establishing a National Junior Enterprise Week to be celebrated annually in April, starting in 2027. The law, sanctioned by the Presidency, aims to promote youth entrepreneurship and disseminate the culture of junior enterprises through various events, seminars, and debates.

Junior enterprises are non-profit associations managed by university students that provide services and projects designed to prepare them for the labor market. Brazil currently holds the largest number of junior enterprises in the world, with over 1,400 units. The movement is supported by Brasil Júnior, a confederation managed by students that represents approximately 26,000 junior entrepreneurs.

The new legislation seeks to strengthen partnerships between the public and private sectors, encourage the hiring of junior enterprises, and foster new entrepreneurial ventures through development policies.
