Brazil evaluates dostarlimabe for endometrial cancer treatment in SUS

Brazil's National Commission for the Incorporation of Technologies in the Unified Health System (Conitec) has opened a public consultation to evaluate the inclusion of dostarlimabe in the public health system (SUS). The evaluation focuses on using dostarlimabe in combination with chemotherapy for patients with advanced or recurrent primary endometrial cancer who exhibit DNA mismatch repair deficiency (dMMR).

Endometrial cancer is the sixth most common cancer among women in Brazil, with over 9,000 new cases estimated annually. Currently, standard first-line treatment relies on chemotherapy, which has limited outcomes; approximately half of patients do not survive past three years. However, immunotherapy has shown long-term curative potential for the roughly 30% of patients with the dMMR molecular characteristic.

The public consultation, numbered 104, is open until October 26, 2026, allowing civil society, medical professionals, and healthcare workers to provide input on the medication's incorporation.
