Brazilian banker Daniel Vorcaro's plea‑deal proposals likely to be rejected

Banker Daniel Vorcaro has submitted two revised plea‑deal (delação premiada) proposals to Brazil's Federal Police (PF) and the Prosecutor‑General's Office (PGR). Investigators say the new material adds little new evidence and largely consists of defensive statements, which they have labelled “negatives.”

The proposals allege payments and favors to several politicians, including Senator Ciro Nogueira, former governors Ibaneis Rocha and Cláudio Castro, Union Brasil president Antônio Rueda and PT leaders in Bahia. PF seized Vorcaro's phones and computers, which already contain extensive proof of a scheme involving billions of reais from public pension funds and other entities. Authorities are expected to reject the deal, and Vorcaro could be returned to a special detention facility in Brasília.

The controversy has also surfaced in related political matters, such as a disputed poll on Flávio Bolsonaro, but the core focus remains the likely dismissal of Vorcaro's plea‑deal and its implications for Brazil's political and financial corruption investigations.
