Brazil expands ecotourism options with new nature trails

New ecotourism routes and attractions have been introduced in different regions of Brazil, focusing on nature and conservation.

In Trajano de Moraes, Rio de Janeiro, the Ministry of Tourism has promoted a 37-kilometer route featuring hiking and cycling paths. The itinerary includes six circuits across five districts, showcasing waterfalls, ruins, old farms, and Atlantic Forest landscapes. A dedicated mobile application provides technical information and local service contacts for the various difficulty levels available.

In Guaraqueçaba, Paraná, the Salto Morato Natural Reserve, maintained by the Fundação Grupo Boticário, has launched the Rio Bracinho Trail. This 7.4-kilometer round-trip trail offers a moderate hiking experience through dense Atlantic Forest and riverbeds, leading to the Rio Bracinho waterfall and a natural lake. The trail is designed for visitors over 12 years old with good physical conditioning and requires professional accompaniment.
