Brazil expands free driver's license programs in Bahia and Sergipe

Various driver's license assistance programs are active in Brazil, targeting low-income individuals to improve mobility and employment opportunities.

In Bahia, the ‘CNH da Gente’ program has opened registration for 20,000 free driver's licenses. The initiative, managed by Detran-BA with an investment of approximately R$ 12.6 million, is available to low-income citizens registered in CadÚnico. Applications must be submitted online via the official Bahia government portal by October 15.

Simultaneously, the ‘Mais Motoristas’ program has begun calling selected candidates in Sergipe and across Brazil. This phase involves 13,892 candidates nationwide, including 315 in Sergipe, to obtain professional licenses in categories C, D, and E. The program prioritizes women and CadÚnico registrants, providing professional qualification alongside the licensing process.
