Brazil expands free ENEM prep with Itaboraí program and Fiocruz outreach

The municipality of Itaboraí launched a free, in‑person pre‑university course called “Passaporte para o Futuro” on Monday, enrolling 76 students. Classes run on Mondays and Fridays evenings and Saturdays, continuing through December, with ten teachers covering core ENEM subjects and providing study materials. Students who gain university admission will receive automatic municipal transport to support their studies. One participant, 20‑year‑old Tainá Oliveira, said the program gives her hope of entering a chemistry degree.

Separately, students from the Popular Pre‑ENEM Iara Iavelberg program in Maricá visited the Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (Fiocruz) in Rio de Janeiro. The visit, held on Saturday, allowed the learners to tour the Museum of Life, see research labs, and connect biology, chemistry and physics lessons to real‑world health science. Teachers and program founder William Campos highlighted the inspirational impact, with student Maria Eduarda noting the experience changed her perception of the exam material.
