Brazil expands free public cinema programs in cities and neighborhoods

The Cinema para Todos project in Presidente Prudente resumes free outdoor film screenings, launching a new season of monthly sessions in August. The first showing on August 5 will feature the documentary “Fé pelo Clima,” followed by a discussion on climate change. The initiative partners with public streaming platforms Ecofalante Play and Tela Brasil and aims to democratize audiovisual access and foster public dialogue.

At the same time, Rio de Janeiro’s Cineclube Estação begins a fresh August schedule of weekly Tuesday screenings at Estação Claro Gávea. The program showcases classic and diverse films such as Otto Preminger’s *Tristeza* and Brian De Palma’s *Carrie*, offering members a discounted ticket price and additional perks. Participants can enroll via an Instagram form and receive a club card granting monthly access and discounts on concessions.
