Brazil expands payment tech with Fiserv factory and Visa corporate platform

Fiserv, the world’s largest payments processor, inaugurated a new Clover terminal manufacturing plant in Betim, Minas Gerais. The facility can produce up to 100,000 devices a year, creating about 450 direct jobs, and aims to cut terminal costs by at least 30% compared with imported models. The move is part of Fiserv’s strategy to place Brazil at the centre of its Latin‑American expansion and to offer faster, locally‑made payment solutions.

Visa launched its Visa Commercial Pay service in Brazil, a corporate‑payment platform that provides instant virtual credentials for employees and suppliers, integrates with digital wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, and allows customised spend limits and automated reconciliation. The company highlighted the “sea of opportunities” in Brazil’s B2B market, where most firms are SMEs that lack tailored payment tools, and said it is already partnering with local acquirers to roll out the solution.
